The Futures Trust Career Ready students visited PepsiCo in Coventry on the 22nd November as part of the Career Ready programme and to help develop their awareness of the world of work.

Firstly, students were given a general talk about the work carried out at the PepsiCo plant, their products and the careers available there, which include front line, engineering, finance, human resources, quality testing and legal. The students then had a tour round (complete with hair nets, hard hats, safety boots and overalls) to see the range of snacks being made; and then they took part in a quality-check and taste-testing process inspecting some snacks, including Doritos and Sunbites... it was a tough job but someone had to do it!

The visit certainly seemed to be one the students enjoyed, particularly as they were each given some snacks to take away with them. The visit has helped broaden students ideas of the kinds of careers/departments in a food production company.
