Peter Thomas, CEO The Futures Trust

NLE, Ofsted Additional Inspector, Pupil Premium Reviewer. Headteacher for 7 years at President Kennedy School. In 3 years the school improved for RTI to Outstanding in all categories. The school has regularly been in the top 1-3% of all schools for progress between 2012-2017 and twice in the top 100 state secondary schools. Peter has worked with Sir David Carter, National Schools Commissioner on a project focused on identifying the key school improvement factors that tackle schools with traditional underperformance and the steps of rapid transformation that lead to sustained improvement. He is also Chair of a single MAT in the West Midlands. Peter has 25 years governance experience and also leads and chairs a collaborative of 8 schools in Coventry.

Steve Toor, Deputy CEO - Education

Previously Deputy Headteacher at President Kennedy School with a remit on standards, curriculum, assessment and teaching and learning, attuned to deliverer school improvement. Steve is a curriculum planning specialist and has helped many schools realise their potential through curriculum redesign. Steve works alongside Headteachers to align business and educational structures to ensure best possible outcomes for students in the most affordable way. He has developed solutions that link curriculum planning to financial planning, and which provide real time affordability KPIs. This has helped realise substantial savings and enabled secondary and primary schools to secure their financial position whilst delivering outcomes for students.

Mollie Potts, School Improvement Lead

Mollie is a primary – secondary/cross phase 5-8 specialist who works on the ground in schools raising standards in reading, writing and mathematics. Mollie leads in raising attainment for Pupil Premium learners, Mollie’s experience includes supporting a number of primary schools and extends to transition years in secondary schools.

Chris Jupp, School Improvement Lead

Headteacher, Barr’s Hill School having moved the schools from ‘floor’ to ‘Good’ in 11 months. In 2 years, progress 8 at Barr’s Hill moved from -0.49 to +0.68. Chris specialises in developing powerful leaders, transforming behaviour and enrichment in schools and has extensive experience of implementing the primary-secondary transition model, including leadership of The Bridge. Prior to this, Chris spent 8 years experience working on school improvement and educational transformational change projects within President Kennedy School. He has undertaken Ofsted inspection training and will soon be available for inspection. 

Julie Bircher, School Improvement Lead

Julie is an SLE, a SSIF consultant and engaged by the Local Authority as a teaching and learning consultant. She is heavily in demand for improving student engagement in the classroom. Julie works with schools to identify and implement improvements in all aspects of teaching and learning. Julie works with schools in many geographical areas of the Midlands. Julie is a former Senior Leader of President Kennedy School.

Elaine Hart, Trust Finance Director

Elaine is a fully qualified management accountant (CIMA) and joined the trust’s central team in 2020. Elaine specialises in financial modelling and all aspects of finance associated with new projects, planning and budget preparation across the trust. Elaine works closely with Steve Toor, Deputy CEO - Education, to deliver high quality financial analysis which underpins the trust’s highly effective but affordable school improvement model.


Victoria Hastie, Trust Operations Director

Victoria has worked in various private and public sector organisations and has experience of leading change at a strategic and organisational level. She has managed large scale projects, change initiatives and service reviews. She has worked in various policy, commissioning and contract management roles. Victoria has developed successful partnerships, as evidences in her previous leadership roles for the Coventry SCITT, the Swan Teaching School Alliance and across School Improvement Networks. Prior to joining TFT, Victoria project managed the Strategic Improvement Fund for Coventry across 28 schools, which saw improved outxomes for learners across the cohort. Since joining The Futures Trust, Victoria has been project managing large scale building projects and is coordinating service reviews and procurement strategy work.

Olan Adeyemi, Trust ICT Director

PRINCE2 and ITIL qualified, Olan holds a First-class Honours degree in Computing and Information Technology from The Open University. Olan has more than 20 years’ experience in the ICT industry in various private and public sector organisations. Over the years, he has worked in ICT project management roles leading on several ICT projects. Some of these include network/systems designs and implementation, domain migration, infrastructure upgrades, and cloud migration. In his current role, Olan is working with relevant functions within the Trust to facilitate the automation of repetitive business processes. In addition, he reviews the Trust’s ICT related contracts to ensure best value and cost-effectiveness. Since joining the Trust, Olan has provided strategic leadership in ICT and successfully led major Trust-wide IT projects, making ICT a strategic enabler of transformation across the Trust.

Nigel Broom, Estates Technical Director

Nigel has extensive experience in estates and facilities maintenance and management gained at Jaguar Land Rover, Peugeot Citroen and Coventry City Council. Nigel’s qualifications include BEng Hons, NEBOSH (General and Construction)  and The Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management. Since joined the Trust, Nigel has successfully led more than twenty estates projects under the ESFA’s Condition Improvement Fund and more recently via Schools Condition Allocation. He commissions and oversees the work of architects and contractors and manages the safety and maintenance of all trust buildings and land. Nigel also oversees Health and Safety on behalf of the trust.

Julieanne Morton, Head of Financial Planning

With a BA Honours Degree in Accounting and Finance, Julieanne is a fully qualified management accountant (CIMA). Julieanne joined the Trust in 2017 and specialises in budget preparation across the Trust, working closely with Headteachers and Steve Toor, Deputy CEO.

Sharon Jeromson, Commerce & Risk Manager

Having worked for a Local Authority for 14 years in Education Finance, Sharon has extensive knowledge in budget setting, monitoring and forecasting for primary schools before moving to work as a School Business Manager. Since joining the Trust in 2018, Sharon has supported the schools through GDPR compliance, managing risks in schools, establishing contract registers within each school, supporting schools with insurance claims and specialises in budget preparation across the primary schools, working closely with each Headteacher.


Tracey Galland, Executive PA & Company Secretary

Tracey has over 15 years’ experience of senior level PA administration in both private and public sector organisations. In addition to providing dedicated PA support to the CEO, Tracey, who is ICSA qualified in Certificate in Academy Governance, supports governance across the Trust; facilitating and clerking all Trust Board and Committee meetings, with oversight of Local Governing Bodies.
