SSAT LEADERSHIP REGIONAL HUB

SSAT Leadership Regional Hub Programmes with FEI

Leaders for the Future

The SSAT Leaders for the Future (L4F) programme prepares and equips leaders in
the early stages of their development for further responsibilities

Each module provides strong foundations for successful school leadership – developing leadership
skills, knowledge and mindsets to increase impact in and beyond the classroom.

Accreditation: The programme is accredited by SSAT and participants will receive a certificate for
modules completed.

Belonging and Inclusion

Create a culture where everyone is valued, respected and thrives

The Belonging and Inclusion Programme (BIP) recognises and responds to the diverse needs
of children and young people in school today. It is grounded in SSAT’s mission that ‘All students,
whatever their ability or context, leave school fully prepared to lead fulfilled and purposeful lives’ and
FEI’s commitment to Building Brighter Futures.

The programme has been designed to build understanding, expertise and collaboration. There are
seven two-hour modules delivered by expert practitioners.

Accreditation: All modules will be accredited by SSAT. Participants will receive a certificate for
modules successfully completed.

Effective Primary Subject Leadership

Empower your aspiring or existing primary subject leaders

The Effective Primary Subject Leadership programme develops knowledge and understanding of the
subject leader role and equips participants with the skills to develop their subject within their own
schools. In a primary school, undertaking a subject leadership role gives teachers the opportunity
to make an impact beyond their own classroom and develop new skills and expertise; it can offer
meaningful development opportunities for primary practitioners and is often the first experience of
leadership.

There are challenges within the role of a subject leader, especially for those new to the role or those
who do not see themselves as ‘expert’ in a specific subject area. Subject leaders in small schools may
be asked to lead multiple subjects. This programme will address these by providing the knowledge and
tools to help participants lead their subject with confidence.

Accreditation: The programme is accredited by SSAT and participants will receive a certificate for
modules completed.

National Award for Middle Leaders

Essential training for middle leaders

Middle leadership is often referred to as the engine room of school improvement because of the
significant and direct impact on teaching and learning. This modular programme draws upon SSAT’s
vast experience and expertise in delivering middle leadership training to equip middle leaders with
the attributes, skills and knowledge to lead sustainable impact.

Accreditation: The programme is accredited by SSAT and participants will receive a certificate for
modules completed.

Stepping Up to Senior Leadership

Extend your leadership influence

Moving from middle leadership to senior leadership requires a mind-set shift to whole school thinking,
the skills to manage complex teams and competing priorities whilst maintaining focus on keeping
students/children at the centre of all you do.

SSAT’s Stepping Up to Senior Leadership (SUSL) programme will equip current and aspiring senior
leaders with the knowledge, skills and attributes needed to positively influence and impact the school.

Accreditation: The programme is accredited by SSAT and participants will receive a certificate for
modules completed.

Programme: The Stepping Up to Senior Leadership programme (SUSL) consists of five modules.

Transforming Futures

The Transforming Futures Programme is for senior leaders committed to continuing
their professional learning and building brighter futures for children and young
people.

Hosted by Futures Education Institute schools the programme invites school leaders to come together
from across local networks to share practice and explore six leadership themes. Each half-day is led by
a headteacher/principal and Dr Dan Belcher (Senior Education Lead, SSAT).
