Primary School Teacher Training

Your pathway to becoming an inspiring primary school teacher.

Train to Be a Primary School Teacher

If you’re ready to train to be a primary school teacher, our expert-led programme provides the knowledge, confidence and real-world experience you need to thrive in the classroom. Futures Teaching Alliance offers exceptional primary school teacher training designed to prepare you to teach across the full primary curriculum and become a highly skilled teacher.

Primary education covers:

Key Stage 1 (Ages 5–7 / Years 1–2)

Pupils begin building foundational skills in reading, writing, number fluency and scientific thinking. You’ll learn how to create nurturing, structured learning environments that support early development.

Key Stage 2 (Ages 7–11 / Years 3–6)

Children deepen their understanding across the curriculum while developing independence, problem-solving skills and collaboration. You’ll develop strategies to challenge, motivate and extend learning for all pupils

What You Will Teach During Primary Teacher Training

Our primary teacher training course ensures you gain the breadth and depth of knowledge needed to deliver the national curriculum effectively.

Core subjects: English, maths and Science.

Foundation subjects: Art and Design, Computing, Design and Technology, MFL, Geography, History, Music and Physical Education.

In addition, primary schools must teach Religious Education and Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE).  Many trainees choose to focus on a particular area of interest.

Our primary school teacher training offers the opportunity to develop a specialism, with incentives available in subjects such as mathematics. This can strengthen your career prospects and deepen your expertise in the subject you are most passionate about.
