Secondary education covers:
- Key Stage 3: 11-14 year olds; school years 7-9
- Key Stage 4: 14-16 year olds; school years 10-11
- Key Stage 5: 16-19 year olds; school years 12-13 (Post 16)
ITT in secondary teaching entails a specialist subject.
Core subjects: English, maths and Science.
Foundation subjects: Art and Design, Business Studies, Computing, Design and Technology, Drama, MFL, Geography, History, Music, Physical Education, Psychology, Religious Education and Sociology.
In addition, secondary schools must teach; sex and relationship guidance and PSHE.
